Bou Habib, Egypt FM call to cease Israeli aggression on Gaza and Lebanon


Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdallah Bou Habib, discussed with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty the latest developments in the Middle East in light of the continuous Israeli hostility against Lebanon and Gaza.

In a joint statement released following their meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, both ministers condemned the aggression on the Lebanese soil, calling for respecting Lebanon’s sovereignty and safety.

Abdelatty said that tampering with Lebanon’s security is tampering with the security of the entire region.

Both ministers stressed the necessity of halting the Israeli hostility, urging the major actors to assume their role to prevent the expansion of the confrontation and the outbreak of a full-scale regional conflict.

They also urged the international community and the UN to implement the General Assembly and the Security Council’s resolutions, and to issue a resolution binding Israel to ending its attacks on Palestine and Lebanon.

lution to the current crisis in the Middle East lies in achieving a ceasefire and halting the hostilities against Gaza and Lebanon.
