Camel Avenue Festival Drives Economic Growth in Taif

The month-long Camel Avenue Festival in Taif proved to be a significant economic driver, stimulating investment in the camel sector and helping increase local prosperity.

Sales at the festival, which ended earlier this month, have exceeded SAR30 million, denoting strong demand and economic activity.

Marzouq bin Fawaz Al-Dhiabi, an investor in the camel market, talking about the vibrant trading atmosphere at the festival, said that auction sales alone reached over SAR6 million, while private deals between camel owners exceeded SAR30 million.

The camel market, held as part of the festival, witnessed daily more than 250 transactions involving a diverse range of camels. Approximately 15,000 camels of various colors were on display, attracting investors from across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries.

Camel festivals play a vital role in preserving heritage and promoting economic growth, consistent with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goal to diversify economic resources.
