Diriyah Celebrates the 94th Saudi National Day with Events and Activities


The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) commemorates the 94th Saudi National Day with a captivating array of events and activities that celebrate the Kingdom’s rich heritage and strengthen national unity.

Through its activities, Diriyah commemorates the legacy of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, founder of modern Saudi Arabia, and expresses the depth of national belonging that began in Diriyah, which today is a global cultural and historical symbol.

The historic UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif was transformed into a vibrant hub of cultural activities, with the traditional Samri and Saudi Ardah performances on display for visitors, as well as live poetry recitals.

In collaboration with the King Abdulaziz Foundation (Darah), a series of historical cultural sessions were also presented to visitors, delving into the tales of the history of Kingdom’s unification and the remarkable personality of King Abdulaziz.

Bujairi Terrace offered a blend of history and technology, captivating visitors
with a unique exhibition of King Abdulaziz that presented the Kingdom’s history through storytelling.

The ‘Interactive Palm Tree’ display added a fun digital element, growing with each post shared using a specific hashtag on X platform; the top 10 most interactive posts are to be rewarded with valuable prizes.

Diriyah’s stunning gardens, Al-Faisaliah and Al-Khalidiyah, hosted a diverse array of educational and entertaining events catering to residents and visitors of all ages.

The streets of Diriyah will be the stage for a breathtaking military parade, with 1,000 military personnel from various sectors marching through the streets. The parade will be complemented by a thrilling display of equestrian prowess featuring camel and horse riders.

Two captivating floats adorned with Ardah performers will add to the festive atmosphere. The celebrations commemorating the 94th Saudi National Day in Diriyah will last for four days, culminating on September 23.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the exclus
ive performance of the largest orchestra of its kind, featuring 500 Amazon Echo devices and Alexa. This groundbreaking performance was a harmonious blend of tradition and technology; the Saudi National anthem and distinctive songs from Saudi Arabia’s rich heritage highlighted the Kingdom’s national identity and its rich culture.
