EU expresses concern over escalation in Lebanon

The European Union’s foreign affairs chief, Josep Borrell, expressed the bloc’s concern over the escalation in Lebanon after the recent attacks on Beirut.

In a statement on Sunday, Borrell called for an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza, noting that “civilians are paying a high price,” and that they will again be the ones who suffer the most in an all-out war that must be avoided through intensive diplomatic efforts.
