Free eye medical camp in Ibb’s al-Odain district launched

IBB – SABA – The 62nd free medical camp for eye care and surgery commenced on Sunday at al-Mazahen Rural Hospital in Fara’ al-Odain district of Ibb province, organized by the Health Care Association for Affected Communities in partnership with the Ministry of Health.

Running for six days and funded by Yemen Mobile Company, the camp aims to provide free eye examinations for 1,500 patients and perform surgeries for 200 cases, including cataract removals and treatment for conjunctival pterygium and eyelid cysts.

This initiative seeks to alleviate the hardships faced by citizens amid ongoing conflict and blockades.

Head of the association Dr. Nashwan al-Attab emphasized that the camp embodies the values of mercy and solidarity associated with the Prophet’s birthday, targeting vulnerable populations in the area. Initial days will focus on examinations to identify patients needing surgery.

ential services to remote areas, fostering social solidarity, and assisting the needy.

He urged for continued establishment of free medical camps to ease patients’ travel burdens.

Director of Yemen Mobile Company Abduljabbar al-Badawi underscored the camp’s importance in promoting compassion and community support, reflecting the company’s commitment to social responsibility.
