Hajjah – Saba: The Governor of Hajjah, Hilal Al-Sufi, and the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Ismail Al-Muhaeem, have inaugurated a free medicine distribution point and surgical medical camps. These initiatives, carried out by the Yemen Drug Bank in collaboration with Al-Razi University, are supported by various private companies.
The camps are set to conduct 250 procedures, including eardrum grafts, caries curettage, cleft lip surgeries, as well as hernia and migratory testicular surgeries in children.
During the inauguration, Al-Sufi, Al-Muhaim, and the Undersecretary of the Governorate, Hammoud Al-Maghribi, received a briefing from Tariq Al-Nhmi, the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, on the goals of the initiative. This included setting up camps, offering free medication three days a week for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, mental disorders, and epilepsy, among others, all year round, and performing 250 surgeries in collaboration with the governorate’s health offi
ce.
Al-Sufi Governor, the Secretary General of the Local Council and the Undersecretary of the Governorate praised the integrated efforts to launch and support the dispensing point of medicines, establish free surgical camps and alleviate the suffering of the insolvent and poor people of the province.
They affirmed readiness to overcome obstacles and keenness to support efforts that are in the interest of the people of the province and alleviate their suffering.
