OIC Media Observatory: Israeli Occupation Forces Intensify Frequency of Deliberate Attacks on Shelters for Displaced People in Gaza

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Media Observatory on Israeli Crimes against Palestinians said that the Israeli occupation forces have intensified the frequency of their deliberate attacks on shelters for the displaced people in the Gaza Strip between September 17 and 23, 2024.

The number of martyrs monitored by the observatory during this period has reached 229 martyrs, while the number of Palestinian wounded has reached 501. The number of Palestinian martyrs between October 7, 2023, and September 22, 2024, has reached 42,147, while the number of the wounded has reached 101,568.

September 22, 2024, witnessed the 181st massacre targeting a shelter centre in the Gaza Strip after targeting Al-Falah School in the Al-Zeitoun neighbourhood, which killed 20 Palestinians, including an unborn child.

Within 72 hours, the occupation forces committed 12 massacres, killing 119 Palestinians and wounding 209, in addition to blowing up residential blocks in Rafah. Eight Palestinians were also martyred in
an Israeli raid targeting Ibn Al-Haytham School in the Al-Shujaiyya neighbourhood, east of Gaza, in addition to other massacres in the Deir Al-Balah, Al-Daraj neighbourhood, and homes in eastern Al-Bureih that were housing dozens of Palestinians.

At the living conditions level, media reports stated that the Gaza Strip is facing the highest inflation rate in the world, making it the most expensive place in the world. This is due to the scarcity of food commodities in the affected areas.

In the context of their declared war on the media to conceal the crimes of genocide they are committing in Palestine, the occupation forces closed the Al Jazeera office in the city of Ramallah on September 22, 2024, by military order for 45 days and confiscated equipment and documents, after raiding it in a flagrant violation of the lands subject to Palestinian sovereignty, and of freedom of the media.

In occupied Jerusalem, the occupation forces began laying the foundations for an escalator 200 meters from the Buraq Wall to
wards the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to facilitate the storming of the mosque’s courtyards by Jewish extremists. The report from the organization’s office in Ramallah indicated that the number of those who stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque between September 22 and 16, 2024, was about 1,794 assailants.

The occupation forces also demolished two houses in Al-Mabker neighbourhood and the village of Al-Issawiya in occupied Jerusalem, in addition to demolishing a number of commercial and agricultural facilities in the village of Sur Baher, and settlers seized a residential apartment in Al-Tur neighbourhood in Jerusalem.

In the West Bank, the number of martyrs reached 12, while the occupation forces arrested 197 Palestinians and demolished four homes in each of Khirbet Jbara in Tulkarm, Qabatiya in Jenin, and the town of Beit Awa in Hebron, where they also demolished an agricultural barn for equipment and sheep with an area of 1,000 square meters and two agricultural rooms, in addition to d
emolishing an agricultural room in Nablus and a well in the town of Yatta in Hebron, besides bulldozing an area of six dunams planted with olive trees in the town of Nahalin and the village of Husan. They also besieged students inside their schools in the town of Qabatiya in Jenin, where they destroyed parts of the infrastructure, causing damage to property, and attacked ambulance crews in Nablus.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces issued three decisions to confiscate 732,719 dunams of land from the villages of Tayasir and Bardala and 6,712 dunams of land from the city of Tubas for settlement projects in order to expand the ‘Maskoyot’ settlement, in addition to confiscating 2,791 dunams of Tubas lands for the construction of a road linking the ‘Nahal Petronot’ settlement outpost with Line 90. They issued a military order to confiscate 7,739 dunams of land from the town of Beit Lid in Tulkarm.

During their raid on the Al-Fawar camp in Hebron, the occupation forces confiscated two printing presses, a tractor, a
nd a garbage truck in the town of Idhna in Hebron, in addition to a bulldozer in the village of Atouf in the Tubas governorate.

The number of settler raids on towns and villages in the West Bank reached 37, during which settlers stormed a school in the Kaabneh Bedouin community west of Jericho and attacked students and teachers. Others robbed a construction materials store and stole some of its contents, set fire to lands planted with olive trees in the village of Al-Mughayyir in Ramallah, and cut down olive trees in the village of Bardala in Tubas and Khalayel Al-Lawz in Bethlehem, while other settlers poisoned five sheep east of Hebron.

The number of Israeli crimes throughout the Palestinian territories reached 1,484 of various types in one week.
