Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors Launches From Riyadh to World Initiative in Beijing

The Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA SA) has officially launched its “From Riyadh to the World” initiative, beginning in Beijing, China. Led by Chief Executive Officer Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Shubaili, a delegation from IIA SA, including several CEOs from Saudi government agencies, held meetings with the executive management of the China Institute of Internal Auditors and senior executives from various Chinese government agencies and major corporations.

During the meetings, the China Institute of Internal Auditors presented key topics, followed by discussions on the Kingdom’s successful experiences. The focus was on internal audit organizational structures, governance, risk management, and compliance. The delegation explored the critical intersections between these fields, emphasizing the role of internal audit departments in both advisory and audit functions. The discussions also highlighted how integrating technology can enhance the performance of these departments and empower governance, risk mana
gement, and compliance teams to align their efforts effectively, addressing identified weaknesses with stronger controls.

The “From Riyadh to the World” initiative is designed to position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in the internal audit profession. It aims to export the Kingdom’s knowledge and share its successful professional practices worldwide. This effort aligns with Saudi Arabia’s significant progress under Vision 2030, particularly in the regulatory sector, where both government and private entities have actively driven sustainable development, a key pillar of the national vision
