On September 17, countries mark World Patient Safety Day to underscore the significance of accurate diagnosis in delivering safer health care and spur global efforts to improve diagnosis.
The Saudi Patient Safety Center will mark the day with various activities and events. It will host discussions and workshops moderated by experts and specialists in healthcare, exchange knowledge and expertise, address challenges related to diagnosis, and explore the possibility of improving diagnostic accuracy.
It will also carry out awareness campaigns on social media and illuminate several landmarks and buildings in the Kingdom in orange to draw attention to the issue.
Director General of the center Dr. Ali Asiri said that the center observes this day in line with its commitment to supporting local and global efforts aimed at improving patient safety.
He underscored the need for collaborative efforts that various stakeholders, including patients, their families, and healthcare professionals, should exert to improv
e diagnostic accuracy.
He also stressed that accurate and early diagnosis is crucial to efforts to improve patient safety in the Kingdom.
