Abu dhabi: French authorities evacuated around 1,200 people from a campsite after two wildfires broke out near the coast in northern France. Authorities in the northern Pas-de-Calais department, which borders the Strait of Dover, said one of the fires had been brought under control, while conditions remained unfavourable for tackling the second blaze.

According to Emirates News Agency, officials noted that access to the site remained difficult as the fire continued to spread unhindered towards the south. The challenging conditions have hampered firefighting efforts, and emergency services are working tirelessly to manage the situation. The safety of the evacuees is a top priority, and temporary shelters have been set up to accommodate those displaced by the fires.
