Abu dhabi: Aisha Al Hossan, Director of the Arabian Heritage Centre, announced the launch of the second edition of the Al Rawi Programme for Preparing Storytellers on Monday. Held at the centre, the programme boasts the participation of 40 individuals from diverse segments of society, including representatives from the American University of Sharjah, Al Qasimia University, and Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators.

According to Emirates News Agency, the programme serves as a prelude to the 26th edition of the Sharjah International Narrator Forum. Spanning over four days, the participants will be immersed in the arts of storytelling, engaging in both the forum's activities and future events organized by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage.

Al Hossan, in her statements to "Sharjah 24," highlighted the programme's role in reinforcing the Sharjah Institute for Heritage's dedication to nurturing storytellers. The initiative aims to familiarize participants with storytelling elements and heritage tale components. The workshop seeks to attract creative talents, enhance their storytelling abilities, and explore innovative presentation techniques.

Throughout the four-day event, the programme delves into the historical concept of storytelling, its evolution, and various techniques. Participants will engage in practical applications of storytelling performance techniques, learning to apply these skills in effectively narrating texts.
