4th Week: Otaiqah Dates Season Receives Over 200,000 Visitors, Sales Hit 3.5 Tons

In its fourth week, the Otaiqah dates season in 2023 welcomed over 200,000 visitors. The average daily attendance was more than 7,000, resulting in sales of 3.5 tons of various types of dates packaged in 2.5 million packages.

During this time, the parking lots at the Otaiqah market accommodated approximately 4,500 pickups since the beginning of the fourth week.

The Otaiqah dates season began on August 1st and will continue until November 1st. This seasonal event is one of the initiatives undertaken by the Riyadh Development Company to support the state’s approach to economic development, entertainment culture, and the growth of the local agricultural sector.

As part of this season, the market of premium quality dates, which is one of the largest in the Kingdom, has opened with 15 tracks dedicated to showcasing various types of dates. This coincided with the start of the new harvest season for the finest and best types of dates in the Kingdom, including Sagai, Sukkari, Khalas, Naboot Saif, and Wannanah dates.

In addition to the diverse offerings, visitors have also been able to enjoy entertaining activities held during the season. These activities are aimed at enhancing the overall shopping experience and include popular performances and traditional hospitality.
