Aboul Gheit warns about danger of Houthis’ attacks


Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, expressed concern over the serious threat posed by Houthi attacks on maritime trade in the Red Sea, a critical corridor for global shipping.

During his meeting with UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, Abu Al Gheit reaffirmed the League’s support for the legitimate government in Yemen and the Saudi efforts to restore stability.

He expressed hope for the continuation of the ceasefire, despite its fragility, and called for a comprehensive political settlement that involves all parties.

He voiced serious concern regarding the humanitarian situation in Yemen, and called for immediate and unconditional release of UN aid workers and personnel.
