Abu Dhabi Awards Launches Awareness Sessions to Boost Community Nominations

Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Awards, now in its 12th edition, has initiated a series of community awareness sessions in collaboration with Majalis Abu Dhabi at the Citizens and Community Affairs Office, part of the Presidential Court. These sessions are part of a broader initiative to commemorate the Awards’ 20th anniversary and align with the UAE’s Year of Community.

According to Emirates News Agency, the primary objective of these sessions is to instill the Awards’ values and mission within the community, urging both citizens and residents to acknowledge and nominate individuals who have made significant contributions to the UAE community. The initiative underscores the foundation of the Abu Dhabi Awards, which operates under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Awards celebrate individuals who dedicate themselves selflessly to the betterment of the community.

Over the past two decades, the Abu Dhabi Awards has honoured 100 individuals from 18 different nationalities. These individuals have been recognized for their impactful contributions across various fields, including healthcare, volunteering, scientific innovation, cultural and heritage preservation, environmental conservation, and supporting and empowering People of Determination. These contributions exemplify the values of giving and social cohesion, which are hallmarks of UAE society.

Through the awareness sessions and related activities, the Abu Dhabi Awards aim to enhance community involvement and inspire individuals to nominate those whose positive actions have influenced others. This approach ensures that the Awards continue to serve as a platform for celebrating inspirational individuals throughout the nation.
