Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) organised a strategic retreat aimed at reviewing the Abu Dhabi Quality Policy and Strategy, marking a significant step towards establishing Abu Dhabi as the Capital of Quality. Representatives from various government entities across Abu Dhabi participated in this event.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Abu Dhabi Quality Strategy sets out key objectives focused on improving service quality, enhancing transparency, and increasing efficiency through the ongoing evaluation and development of existing systems and procedures. The strategy aims to achieve tangible improvements in the services provided, thereby strengthening public trust and reflecting the emirate’s commitment to reaching the highest quality standards. This initiative is part of QCC’s comprehensive vision to enhance the quality of life across all areas of the emirate.
Eng. Fahad Gharib Al Shamsi, Acting Secretary-General at QCC, underscored the importance of collective efforts in realising Abu Dhabi’s quality aspirations, which will further enhance the quality of life and fortify the emirate’s global standing. He expressed confidence in Abu Dhabi’s ambitious vision and determination to accomplish significant achievements in quality, highlighting the emirate’s goal to be among the top ten on the International Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development Index.
Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Al Yazeedi, Executive Director of the Strategic Affairs Sector, emphasized the significance of the strategic retreat, noting that QCC aims to strengthen partnerships and collaboration among government entities. This will contribute to improving services, fostering economic growth, and elevating the overall quality of life in the emirate. He stressed the necessity of working as a unified team and fostering effective cooperation among all stakeholders. Additionally, public-private partnerships are deemed essential for achieving these objectives, along with a thorough analysis of quality infrastructure gaps at both national and international levels to guide future efforts.
Notably, Abu Dhabi has made significant strides in recent years, with the UAE advancing six positions in the 2024 Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development Index issued by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The UAE moved from 11th to 5th place globally in the category of countries with a GDP between USD 100 billion and USD 1 trillion and ranked 22nd globally across all categories. This progress reflects the ongoing efforts towards achieving the nation’s strategic objectives.
At the end of the retreat, all involved entities agreed to actively engage in implementing the strategy, reaffirming the importance of collaboration and coordination to achieve the desired outcomes. By working together, the emirate aims to elevate the quality of life in Abu Dhabi and work towards a promising future.
