ADAFSA offers veterinary services at 18th Al Dhafra Festival


Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) is participating in the 18th edition of the Al Dhafra Festival, which commenced yesterday in Sweihan, Abu Dhabi.

The event is organised by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and will continue until 30th January 2025.

During the festival, ADAFSA will provide logistical and veterinary services to camel owners and livestock breeders at various Mazayna locations, including Sweihan, Razeen, Madinat Zayed, and the concluding Al Dhafra Festival.

ADAFSA will also operate a mobile veterinary clinic staffed with a team of veterinarians and technicians. The clinic will conduct health checks on camels participating in the festival, ensuring they are free from diseases such as brucellosis. Additionally, veterinary services will be extended to the owners of livestock farms and breeders at the festival, including laboratory tests, diagnostics, and appropriate treatments.

Participants will have access to eight free veterinary services, including treatm
ent, farm and livestock spraying, blood tests, surgery, and the dispensing of medicines.

Veterinary experts from ADAFSA will offer advice on best farm management practices, including herd health management, parasite control, and the proper nutrition of livestock using concentrated feeds.

By participating in the Al Dhafra Festival, ADAFSA demonstrates its commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and promoting animal welfare in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
