Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has unveiled its Onboarding and Readiness Accelerator Programme, a transformative initiative designed to prepare Abu Dhabi Scholarship students for their international academic pursuits. This comprehensive program aims to equip students with the necessary skills and confidence to represent the UAE on a global stage.
According to Emirates News Agency, the program aligns with ADEK's objectives of fostering national identity, enhancing student wellbeing, and developing talent that is ready for the future. It provides students with the resilience and capabilities needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape. The initiative is a collaborative effort with 19 government and industry partners, international embassies, and a network of alumni and specialists, offering support from pre-departure through to academic completion.
The program is structured around four core pillars: reinforcing national identity and global citizenship, promoting wellbeing, enhancing safety awareness, and developing crucial life skills such as financial literacy and decision-making. Students undergo a two-week intensive in-person preparation phase before departing, which includes interactive workshops and practical learning experiences to build cultural awareness and essential skills. Families are also involved through sessions designed to support students' transitions.
After the initial year of study, the program continues to offer structured support, including access to advisors and tailored guidance, internships with over 200 industry partners, and career support post-graduation. This ensures that students can leverage their international experiences for meaningful opportunities in Abu Dhabi's key sectors.
The Onboarding and Readiness Accelerator underscores ADEK's dedication to nurturing globally competent graduates who maintain a strong connection to their national roots while possessing the skills and resilience needed to succeed internationally and contribute to the future of Abu Dhabi.
