ADJD celebrates Reading Month with various activities

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) organised a myriad of activities to celebrate the National Reading Month.

The ADJD’s programme aims to encourage members of society to embrace the culture of knowledge acquisition, so as to drive progress and development in the UAE, and achieve sustainability in various fields.

Youssef Saeed Al Abri, Under-Secretary of ADJD, said that celebrating reading for an entire month every year, through a range of initiatives and multiple events across all sectors, enhances efforts to consolidate knowledge and disseminate culture among different groups of society, as it helps to fulfil the UAE government’s vision to make reading a way of life in Emirati society.

Al Abri also emphasised the interest taken by the Judicial Department in raising awareness, particularly legal awareness, in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of ADJD, to promote an effective contribution and sustainable participation in the consolidation of security, stability, development and prosperity.

In detail, the ADJD has approved a number of events to mark its participation in this year’s Reading Month, including the “Reading Exhibition”, with the participation of a group of renowned publishing houses, the exhibition of legal and judicial publications and magazines and various books, as well as awareness-raising conferences to encourage employees and their families to broaden their knowledge and boost their skills.

The Judicial Department has also focused on disseminating educational messages through various electronic media, in addition to running cultural competitions and interactive programmes to showcase the importance of reading and its effective role in promoting innovation and development, and preserving cultural and social heritage, in order to support the knowledge-based development process.
