ADJD Delegation Explores Kazakhstan’s Advanced Judicial and Correctional Systems

Abu dhabi: An official delegation from the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), led by Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the ADJD, recently conducted an insightful visit to Kazakhstan. The delegation focused on exploring the integration of cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies and innovative digital systems within Kazakhstan's justice system, as well as its judicial institutions and correctional and rehabilitation centres.

According to Emirates News Agency, the delegation examined Kazakhstan's use of automated mechanisms for mediation and conciliation processes, systems that expedite enforcement procedures, and initiatives that aid in the rehabilitation of inmates. These initiatives are designed to facilitate the reintegration of former inmates into society, thereby enhancing the overall efficacy of the correctional system.

This visit aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. His directives emphasize promoting institutional excellence, reviewing exemplary judicial and technological practices, and fostering international cooperation to enhance judicial development and uphold the rule of law.

The delegation included key figures such as Counsellor Ali Mohamed Al Blooshi, Abu Dhabi Attorney General, Counsellor Ali Al Shaer Al Dhaheri, Director of the Judicial Inspection Department, Brigadier Faisal Al Hammadi, Executive Director of the Correctional and Rehabilitation Centres Sector, and Abdullah Saif Zahran, Director of Strategic Planning and Institutional Development. Dr Mohamed Al Ariqi, UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan, also participated in the visit.

Throughout their meetings at Kazakhstan's criminal and commercial courts and their visits to correctional and rehabilitation centres, the delegation gained valuable insights into the country's court structure and judicial system. They exchanged perspectives on modern litigation procedures and assessed best practices for enhancing the customer journey and ensuring the timely delivery of justice.

The delegation concluded its visit with a field tour of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Court. They reviewed the advanced legal environment of the centre and its sophisticated technological mechanisms, which are employed to resolve commercial and investment disputes in alignment with the highest international standards.
