Admissions Open for Government Nurseries in Sharjah

Sharjah: In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) announced the opening of admissions for the Emirate’s children to government nurseries for the 2025-2026 academic year. This initiative is part of a comprehensive expansion plan that aims to admit 2,546 children across 32 government nurseries in Sharjah in three phases starting next September.

According to Emirates News Agency, the first phase will commence in September 2025, admitting 2,176 existing and new children to various government nurseries in Sharjah. The second phase, set for October, will include all registered children from Khorfakkan, Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn, and the Central Region, who were not admitted in the first phase. This phase coincides with the opening of Luluyah Nursery in Khorfakkan and Al Saf Nursery in Kalba, completed by the Sharjah Department of Public Works, accommodating 252 and 178 children respectively.

The third phase will begin in December 2025, admitting 239 registered children in Sharjah who were not included in the earlier phases. This gradual expansion policy is designed to ensure a smooth integration process, considering operational and educational aspects at each stage.

The academy has established specific criteria for admissions to ensure transparency and fairness, aligning with its commitment to prioritizing Sharjah’s children and achieving balanced seat distribution across the emirate. Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi, Chairperson of SEA, emphasized the academy’s collaborative efforts with government entities to expand nursery services and provide optimal early learning programs.

Khawla Al Hosani, Deputy Director of SEA, highlighted that the admissions for the 2025-2026 academic year respond to increased demand for government nurseries and reflect an understanding of the needs of Sharjah’s families. She expressed confidence that the expansion, along with training for educational staff, will lay the foundation for quality early education, enhancing children’s future opportunities with high-standard educational environments.

With the completion of new nurseries, the total number of government nurseries in Sharjah will rise to 35.
