AIMC head, House delegation talk cooperation

Secretary General of Arab Interior Ministers’ Council (AIMC), Dr. Mohammad bin Ali Koman, met in Tunis with a Jordanian parliamentary delegation, headed by chairman of the High-level Parliamentary Group on Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transition, under the Arab Parliament, MP Khaled Abu Hassan. The two sides reviewed the group’s current and future programmes, and highlighted areas of AIMC’s work related to cybersecurity and anti-cybercrime fields. Discussions also went over visions on ways and mechanisms for coordinating joint cooperation between the AIMC’s General Secretariat and the Arab Parliament, and pushing this effort to achieve “broader” horizons in various areas of common interest, according to a Lower House statement. For his part, Abu Hassan and the group’s members hailed the AIMC’s achievements in various fields, especially in cybersecurity and anti- cybercrime areas, stressing the group’s keenness to benefit from the council’s “successful” expertise and experiences. Abu Hassan also stressed need to strengthen the group’s cooperation areas with Arab Parliament, promote joint Arab action and achieve its desired goals to serve Arab countries. Meanwhile, Koman affirmed AIMC’s keenness to provide all possible support to the group, to ensure success of its future work program. The group is scheduled to hold a cybersecurity conference in Amman, with participation of AIMC’s General Secretariat.
