Doha: Secretary-General of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF), Jassim Sultan Al Rumaihi, emphasized that the Gulf Cup U-23 tournament recently held in Doha marked a significant milestone in Qatar's bustling football season. He highlighted that the tournament reflects the advanced position Qatar has reached in organizing major football championships at both regional and international levels.
According to Qatar News Agency, the successful execution of the tournament underscores Qatar's unwavering commitment to nurturing young football talents in the region, offering an exceptional competitive platform in an atmosphere filled with football enthusiasm, as stated by Al Rumaihi.
Al Rumaihi also extended his congratulations to all participating teams, commending their high technical performance, and specifically lauded the Saudi U-23 national team for their well-deserved victory in the tournament.

The AGCFF Secretary-General noted that the U-23 tournament is part of a series of championships Qatar is hosting this year, including the Gulf Cup U-17, which Saudi Arabia won by defeating Iraq 2-0 in the final. This series also includes the ongoing FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, running until December 18, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025, which concludes tomorrow.
Al Rumaihi concluded by asserting that the success of these successive events bolsters Qatar's reputation as a global sports hub, capable of hosting major simultaneous events with high efficiency.
