The Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the Arab League, Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, and the Director of Operations for the Middle East and North Africa at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Ghada Taher, discussed on Tuesday cooperation. Abu Ghazaleh said the meeting, which took place in Cairo, discussed future cooperation between the Arab League and the UN in issues of common interest about humanitarian affairs in the region. She presented the efforts of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in humanitarian affairs and its role in managing health and humanitarian aid and ministerial councils specialised in supporting Arab countries during humanitarian crises. She added that preparations are underway for the fifth session of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit next November in Mauritania.
