Abu Dhabi:The Arab Monetary Fund is set to celebrate its Golden Jubilee in Abu Dhabi tomorrow, marking 50 years since its establishment. This event coincides with the opening of the 17th Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers.
According to Emirates News Agency , both the celebration and the council meeting will be held under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Arab Monetary Fund, has organized the gathering under the theme 'Fifty Years of Arab Financial Cooperation... Together Towards a More Integrated Arab Financial Future.' The event will bring together Arab finance ministers and representatives from regional and international financial institutions to discuss strengthening economic resilience and addressing global challenges.
H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized the significance of the Arab Monetary Fund's Golden Jubilee, highlighting the leadership‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¾¢s vision to advance joint Arab action and foster a regional platform for financial stability and sustainable development. He stressed the importance of the meeting as an opportunity to reaffirm commitment to financial cooperation and economic stability, encouraging dialogue on responding to global economic shifts and promoting sustainable growth.
The celebration will feature a documentary on the Fund's achievements over the past five decades and a recognition ceremony for those who have supported its development. The 17th Ordinary Session will include reports from the Council Secretariat and presentations by the Arab Monetary Fund on topics such as artificial intelligence in fiscal policy and public finance conditions in Arab countries. Additionally, the World Bank Group will present on sustainable financing for infrastructure, and the OECD will discuss international tax developments related to Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS). Coordination of a unified Arab position towards international financial institutions will also be addressed.
