Arab Parliament Speaker Expresses Appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s Proposal to Support Palestinian Parliamentary Diplomacy in International Forums

The Arab Parliament has adopted a proposal by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (the Shura Council) to support Palestinian parliamentary diplomacy, thus supporting the Palestinian cause in international forums and meetings of regional and international parliaments.

Arab Parliament Speaker Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Assoumi issued a statement today in which he expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s proposal – which was submitted by a member of the Shura Council, a member of the Arab Parliament, a member of the Palestine Committee in the Arab Parliament, Assaf bin Salem Abu Thaneen, which highlights the suffering of the Palestinian people under the oppression of the occupation forces.

The proposal also aims at supporting the steadfastness of the Jerusalemites in the face of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and religious sanctities, as well as mobilizing international public opinion to support the Arab position on the Palestinian issue, which is to reach a solution as per the Arab Peace Initiative, and activating the role of the public in trying to correct misconceptions about the Palestinian issue.
