Boeing Secures $20 Billion US Navy Contract for Future Fighter Jet

Washington:Boeing has been awarded a $20 billion contract by the US Navy to develop its next-generation strike fighter, known as the F/A-XX.

According to Emirates News Agency, this contract is a part of the Navy's Next Generation Air Dominance initiative. Boeing will be responsible for delivering multiple test aircraft that will undergo evaluations for ground operations, airworthiness, systems, and weapons integration.

The F/A-XX is designed to operate from naval aircraft carriers and is expected to be introduced in the 2030s. This development aims to enhance the capabilities of the US Navy's air operations in the coming decades.
