BrahMos Aerospace Showcases Its Hypersonic Missile System at NAVDEX 2025

Abu Dhabi: BrahMos Aerospace is proudly showcasing its hypersonic BrahMos missile system, renowned as one of the fastest in the world, during its participation in the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025. Alexander Maksichev, co-director of the joint Russian-Indian venture, detailed the company’s offerings at the event.

According to Emirates News Agency, Maksichev elaborated that BrahMos Aerospace, established as a collaboration between India and Russia, focuses on designing, developing, and producing hypersonic missile systems. The company aims to provide advanced defence technologies to enhance the defensive capabilities of various nations.

At NAVDEX 2025, the company is not only exhibiting the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile but also introducing a new, lighter, and upgraded version called BrahMos-MA. This upgraded missile boasts high precision in targeting both naval and land-based threats.

Maksichev highlighted that BrahMos Aerospace produces some of the world’s fastest missiles, capable of reaching speeds three times that of sound, and these can be launched from land, sea, and air platforms.

Reflecting on the company’s history, Maksichev noted that the joint venture agreement between India and Russia was signed in February 1998, leading to the first BrahMos missile launch in June 2001. He emphasized the importance of NAVDEX 2025 as a significant platform for global defence companies to explore cutting-edge technologies in the defence industry.

Maksichev also commended the organisation of the event, underlining its status as a major international exhibition.
