Calidus Unveils AlDeraa Short Range Air Defence System to Combat Drone Threats

Abu dhabi: Calidus Holding Group, a leader in defence and manufacturing, has introduced a new short range air defence system, AlDeraa, aimed at addressing modern unmanned aerial threats, including drones and loitering munitions like kamikaze drones.

According to Emirates News Agency, the launch of this defence project underscores Calidus Holding Group’s commitment to providing tactical solutions that enhance readiness in contemporary battlefields. The AlDeraa system is designed for rapid deployment on both fixed and mobile platforms, tailored to user requirements and operational environments.

The system features modular integration with Command and Control (C2) and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems. This strengthens the effectiveness of short range air defence and contributes to a multi-layered tactical air defence network. It offers advanced sensors along with soft-kill and hard-kill solutions.

Developed with innovative technologies, the system counters asymmetric threats, particularly low-cost drones and loitering munitions. These capabilities redefine short range air defence, enhancing detection of low-signature threats, improving target classification accuracy, and enabling effective responses in critical timeframes. This ensures protection around vital assets and ground formations against swarms of drones and loitering munitions.

Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, Managing Director and CEO of Calidus Holding Group, stated the project responds to the rapid escalation of drone threats. He emphasized that the system is tactical, quickly deployable, logistically lightweight, customizable, and integrable with users’ command and control systems, meeting urgent operational needs in modern battlefields.

Ahmed Rashed AlZaabi, Head of Missiles and Defence Systems at Calidus Holding Group, noted that the AlDeraa system embodies a comprehensive operational philosophy from detection to neutralization of threats, with the capability to counter swarms of drones and loitering munitions. It is designed to provide reliable responses in complex operational environments, with modular integration into multi-layered air defence networks.
