Capacity-building program for gov’t media staff holds training sessions

The Ministry of Government Communication’s 3-year capacity-building program for government communication staff, which was launched in early 2023, continued its training sessions on Sunday, according to Minister Faisal Shboul. Funded by the US Embassy in Amman and carried out by Magenta International Consulting, the program targets 81 spokespersons and 54 workers in media departments at ministries and public institutions, he added in a statement. Shboul noted that two training sessions will be conducted before the end of June, targeting a total of 44 spokespersons and media department workers. The first half of July, he continued, will see three training sessions for a total of 41 trainees. The training plan for the last quarter of 2023 is under preparation, he stated. Shboul noted that the program is split into theoretical and practical components, covering topics like strategic communication, conducting interviews, creating news stories, and working in crises.
