Abu Dhabi:Khamzat Chimaev and Colby Covington are set to headline the Real American Freestyle (RAF) Abu Dhabi event at Etihad Arena on Yas Island on 14th November, competing for the Cruiserweight Crossover Championship.

According to Emirates News Agency, this event marks RAF's first foray into the Middle East and will feature Chimaev, who has been competing under the UAE flag since 2023, facing off against Covington. Chimaev is a prominent global combat sports figure, while Covington is known for his wrestling credentials as a two-time NCAA All-American and former interim MMA champion. Both athletes will enter the title clash with unbeaten records in RAF.

The Abu Dhabi event will also showcase other top wrestling and combat sports stars, including Arman Tsarukyan, Henry Cejudo, Jordan Burroughs, Kyle Snyder, and Abdulrashid Sadulaev. Details about their opponents and additional bouts will be announced in the coming weeks.

This inaugural RAF Abu Dhabi event is the start of a five-year partnership between Real American Freestyle, the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), and the UAE Wrestling Federation. It follows successful RAF events in Tbilisi, Georgia, and Moscow, Russia, as the organization expands its global professional wrestling presence.
