Dubai: Creator HQ, in a pioneering partnership with BytePlus, successfully hosted the AI Creative Hackathon, marking a significant milestone in the realm of AI-driven creativity. The event brought together a diverse group of AI creators and influencers from over 20 countries, making it the first of its kind in the UAE and the Middle East.
According to Emirates News Agency, the hackathon showcased the future of storytelling through the use of BytePlus’ advanced creative platforms, Seedream and Seedance. These tools enabled participants to develop intricate visuals and cinematic narratives, pushing the boundaries of AI-assisted content creation. Competitors vied for US$50,000 in credits for Seedance and Seedream platforms, along with US$9,000 in cash rewards, recognising outstanding innovation and technical excellence.
Throughout the event, creators generated hundreds of AI-produced videos and thousands of images, resulting in over 80 hours of original visual content. Long Li, General Manager, MEA at BytePlus, commended the exceptional quality of work, stating that the hackathon significantly boosted product awareness and showcased the potential of these cutting-edge tools.
Dr. Mohammad AlGhfeli, Managing Director of Creators HQ, highlighted the transformative power of AI in creative production, emphasizing the partnership’s role in unlocking new forms of storytelling and visual expression. He noted the speed at which creators were able to transform concepts into high-quality cinematic outputs.
The hackathon, led by BytePlus’ Chief Technical Advisor Vivek Ganesh, offered participants hands-on mentorship and guidance in prompt engineering, narrative design, and responsible AI practices. Rabeea Hasan Sharif won the top prize of US$ 4,000 with a compelling story on happiness, while Mohammed Shafeeqe and Mamadou Abdelnaser took second place with culturally rich narratives. Rabia Celik and Jorge Sanchez secured third place with their Dubai-themed content.
This event underscores the evolving landscape of media production, as advanced tools and global collaboration continue to reshape creative possibilities.
