The Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al-Ezzi discussed today,Satuarday, with the Regional Director of the WFP, Corinne Fleischer, the level of implementation of food aid plans and programmes.
In the meeting, Al-Ezzi urged the Food Program to increase food aid to the needy and the most needy groups who are suffering from the repercussions of the aggression and the comprehensive blockade.
For her part, Fleischer indicated that the program suffers from a deficit in funding allocations as a result of donor countries not fulfilling their obligations in full, which reflects negatively on its plans and activities.
She stressed that the program will continue to provide assistance to the Yemeni people to alleviate the severity of the humanitarian disaster.
The meeting was attended by the resident representative of the World Food Program in Sana’a, Richard Ragan.
