Dhi Ayn Village, A Cultural Tourism Site for Visitors to Al-Baha

Al-Baha: Dhi Ayn Heritage Village in Al-Mikhwat, Al-Baha region, is renowned for its heritage, rich history, and captivating beauty.

According to UNESCO, the village dates back to the late 8th century AD.

Dhi Ayn is one of the most important villages in the Kingdom; it features 49 stone palaces built on a mountain of white marble, and a mosque.

The village, of unique beauty, is one of the best heritage villages in the region due, mainly, to its security and economy. From a security point of view, the village’s location, and the high and rugged elevations provide natural protection on the northern, eastern, and southern sides. As for the economic aspect, the village has fresh water from a running spring, which helps plant various crops.

Yahya Aref, a local resident, said that the village contains nine single-story palaces, 19 two-story palaces, 11 three-story palaces, and 10 four-story palaces.

The farms in Dhi Ayn produce seven tons of bananas annually, and more than 32,000 cady flowers, Aref added.
