Abu dhabi: Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) has announced eight new investment commitments for 2025, expanding its portfolio to 30 investments, including 11 venture capital funds and 19 high-growth startups. This strategic move highlights DFDF's commitment to strengthening Dubai's innovation economy and advancing the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
According to Emirates News Agency, the fund has broadened its investments across key sectors of the future economy, with a particular focus on PropTech and artificial intelligence. The 2025 Annual Report of DFDF details these commitments, which include five investments in venture capital funds and three direct investments in high-growth startups.
Throughout the year, DFDF has fortified its PropTech portfolio by investing in two specialized companies and two sector-focused venture funds. This aligns with its strategy of directing capital towards high-impact sectors poised to shape the future economy.
In 2025, DFDF enhanced its role as a catalyst for Dubai's innovation ecosystem by establishing strategic partnerships with leading international organizations, conducting investment roadshows in major global innovation hubs, and launching initiatives to support startup growth and entrepreneurial capability. These efforts are designed to attract top-tier talent and investment, further cementing Dubai's status as a global hub for venture capital and innovation.
Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation and Chairman of DFDF, stated, "Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for innovation and venture capital through an integrated ecosystem that combines a future-focused vision, progressive regulation, world-class infrastructure, and the ability to attract the world's leading entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, and talent."
Nader Albastaki, Managing Director of DFDF, added, "During 2025, we made eight new investment commitments while sharpening our focus on the strategic sectors shaping Dubai's future economy. Looking ahead, we will continue diversifying our investment portfolio, strengthening our global partnerships, and launching new initiatives that build a stronger and more resilient venture capital ecosystem, enabling more founders to build globally competitive companies."
In support of the D33, DFDF will advance its long-term investment strategy with a stronger focus on strategic sectors shaping the future economy. Priorities for 2026 include launching a program to support emerging fund managers and deepening collaboration with local and international partners to unlock new business and investment opportunities.
The year 2025 marked a significant chapter in DFDF's journey as the fund translated the UAE's Year of Community into actionable initiatives, strengthening investment, collaboration, and long-term economic impact. Through expanded partnerships and increased mobilization of regional and international capital, DFDF reinforced Dubai International Financial Centre's role as a gateway for capital flowing into Dubai's future economy sectors.
Established by Dubai Future Foundation and Dubai International Financial Centre, DFDF invests in venture capital funds and technology companies at various growth stages. Its investment priorities include PropTech, HealthTech, LogisticsTech, DeepTech, Circular Economy technologies, and Web3, supporting the industries underpinning Dubai's future economy.
