Dubai: Dubai Police has welcomed students back to five Hemaya Schools for Education for the start of the 2026-2027 academic year, continuing an educational journey that combines academic development with character building, national values, discipline, and preparation for the future.
According to Emirates News Agency, students were welcomed through interactive, educational, and awareness activities aimed at creating a positive start to the school year, reinforcing responsibility and discipline, and encouraging them to pursue their ambitions with enthusiasm.
The activities were attended by Major General Badran Al Shamsi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Academy and Training Affairs; Colonel Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director of the Hemaya Schools Office; Major Mohammad bin Shafya, Deputy Director of the Office; and several officers. Al Shamsi emphasized that Hemaya Schools represent an educational model combining quality education with national values and principles of discipline and responsibility, which helps prepare knowledgeable and capable generations to contribute effectively to the UAE's continued development.
He described the new academic year as a renewed opportunity for ambition, hard work, and achievement, encouraging students to utilize available learning opportunities and make excellence a constant goal throughout their academic journey. He stressed that developing students goes beyond academic achievement and requires an integrated system of values and skills encompassing belonging and loyalty to the nation, discipline, respect, and responsibility, alongside personal and social capabilities needed to face the future confidently.
Al Shamsi stated that Dubai Police attaches significant importance to Hemaya Schools, based on the belief that investing in education is an investment in people and the nation's future. He highlighted the importance of cooperation between schools, families, and organizations supporting the educational process in developing generations capable of creativity, innovation, and responsibility.
He also praised the efforts of Hemaya Schools' administrative, teaching, and technical teams in providing a positive and stimulating learning environment, as well as the role of parents as essential partners in supporting their children's educational development.
Al Suwaidi mentioned that Hemaya Schools were established in 2018 as a Dubai Police initiative to provide educational opportunities for the children of its military and civilian personnel, while supporting their families and easing related burdens. The initiative forms part of an institutional approach aimed at promoting happiness, job stability, and quality of life for Dubai Police personnel and their families.
Since their establishment, the schools have expanded across different stages of education, providing an environment that combines academic curricula with security education, awareness, and discipline while instilling national values and positive behavior. Hemaya Schools have also focused on recruiting qualified teaching and administrative professionals and continuously developing their educational system in line with leading practices.
Students participate in community initiatives, events, and volunteering opportunities designed to develop their personalities, strengthen their skills, and promote initiative and responsibility. Al Suwaidi expressed that the objective extends beyond delivering classroom knowledge to developing well-rounded students who combine academic excellence, discipline, security awareness, and community participation, while being able to respond to future changes and challenges.
He said, 'We welcome our students to their new academic year with optimism and confidence, and we look forward to a year filled with excellence and success.' He added, 'We hope Hemaya Schools students will continue to set positive examples through their academic achievement, discipline, positive behavior, and community participation.'
Al Suwaidi said the success of Hemaya Schools reflects the combined efforts of Dubai Police, administrative and teaching staff, parents, students, and partners. He added that the next phase will see continued development of the educational environment, programmes, and initiatives to strengthen students' capabilities and prepare them for future requirements.
Welcome activities across the five schools included interactive, educational, and awareness programs designed to prepare students psychologically and academically for their return to the classroom while promoting positivity, cooperation, and discipline. Dubai Police and Hemaya Schools concluded the activities by wishing students, teaching, and administrative staff, and parents an academic year filled with success, excellence, and achievement.
