Abu dhabi: The Dubai Press Club (DPC), in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, today organised the 'Arab Media Summit Mallathon' at the Dubai Mall. This event brought together over 350 media professionals, representatives of media organisations, content creators, and social media influencers.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event marked the countdown to the Arab Media Summit 2026, highlighting the objectives of its upcoming edition and encouraging the media community to register and participate. Held under the theme 'Arab Media Moves Towards the Summit', the 'Dubai Mallathon' initiative combined physical activity with professional networking, providing participants an informal setting to connect ahead of the Summit in September.
Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, praised the Dubai Press Club's efforts, which reflect Dubai's leading position and its role in advancing Arab media. He expressed appreciation for the collaboration between the Council and DPC and emphasized the Arab Media Summit's legacy of fostering high-level professional dialogue over the past 24 years.
Hareb stated, 'The 'Arab Media Summit Mallathon' is an innovative initiative that demonstrates the power of sport to strengthen communication and engagement across society. It reflects Dubai's approach to developing initiatives that combine physical activity with meaningful interaction, supporting the objectives of a major event impacting Arab media development.'
He further noted that the 'Dubai Mallathon' is a citywide community wellness initiative encouraging daily physical activity and creating opportunities for societal engagement. By organising specialised events with diverse institutional and sector participation, it broadens community impact and supports Dubai's quality of life enhancement commitments.
Maryam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, expressed appreciation for the Dubai Sports Council's cooperation in organising the event. She noted that the Arab Media Summit continues to serve as a strategic platform for decision-makers, thought leaders, media professionals, and content creators to identify sector priorities and explore future transformations.
Al Mulla added, 'The Mallathon was inspired by Dubai's drive for competitiveness, excellence, and leadership, values central to the Arab Media Summit since the Arab Media Forum's launch over 24 years ago. The event provided an energetic experience, reflecting a shared readiness and momentum, strengthening media and digital engagement for an eagerly anticipated event.'
