Egypt: Arab ministerial cmte keen on solving Syrian crisis

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said Tuesday that the Arab ministerial committee is keen on completing its mission of resolving the prolonged Syrian crisis.

This came in a meeting between Shoukry and his Syrian peer Faisal Mekdad, within the framework of his visit to Cairo to partake in the Arab contact committee on Syria, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Shoukry expressed hope that the committee would succeed in achieving desired goals of this meeting, it noted.

Meanwhile, Mekdad briefed Shoukry on latest developments in Syria and the government’s effort to deal with different aspects of the plight, it said.

Issues discussed include the return of refugees, combating terror and drugs, as well as reinstating and reserving Syria’s sovereignty, it concluded.
