Pahang: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has initiated the concluding phase of a housing project aimed at supporting families affected by floods in the Malaysian state of Pahang. This initiative is part of the United Arab Emirates' ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian and development aid across the globe.
According to Emirated News Agency, the project aligns with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is closely monitored by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent. This reflects the UAE's commitment to providing relief and enhancing community stability.
The project's inauguration was graced by Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, Sultan of Pahang, and attended by Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the ERC, Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Malaysia, and officials from the Pahang state government and community organizations.
The project aims to offer suitable housing for flood-affected families, involving the construction and furnishing of homes across seven districts in Pahang. The project, costing AED11.2 million, has been completed fully, adhering to safety and quality living standards.
During the ceremony, the Secretary-General of ERC expressed gratitude to the Sultan of Pahang and the state government for their support, which facilitated the project's completion. He emphasized the collaboration's reflection of strong bilateral relations and a mutual commitment to aiding vulnerable communities.
The Sultan of Pahang extended his appreciation to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the UAE's ongoing support in various fields. He highlighted the UAE's leadership in providing assistance globally under the President's guidance.
Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri noted the strategic and distinguished bilateral relations between the UAE and Malaysia, especially following the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement's activation in October 2025. He emphasized the special bond between the two nations, underlined by the relationship between their leaders.
