Abu dhabi: Emirati women now represent a significant majority within the Federal Tax Authority's (FTA) female workforce, with 87 percent of positions occupied by them, as the organization continues to strengthen their presence across various roles and specialisations. This demographic also holds an impressive 93 percent of all female positions in the youth category, showcasing the increasing influence of national female talent in the development of the tax system.

According to Emirates News Agency, Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Mulla, Director-General of the FTA, highlighted the importance of empowering women, which aligns with the vision of the UAE leadership. This empowerment is being realized through opportunities for leadership, innovation, and participation in shaping the future. Women constitute 51 percent of the FTA's total workforce, with 50 new Emirati women appointments expected by 2026.

Further data reveal that 330 Emirati women are employed in specialised and professional roles, 60 occupy executive positions, and 13 are in supervisory and leadership roles. Al Mulla emphasized that Emirati women have proven their competence in the tax sector, playing a crucial role in the development and sustainability of the tax system.

To celebrate these accomplishments, the FTA Women's Committee is organizing a month-long program from August 28 to September 28, 2026. The program will feature various initiatives and activities that honor the achievements of Emirati women, and highlight distinguished national female figures in the tax sector, underlining their contribution to the UAE's development journey.
