EU Renews Sanctions Against Da’esh and Al-Qaeda for Another Year

Brussels:The Council of the European Union has renewed its autonomous restrictive measures against Da'esh, Al-Qaeda, and associated individuals and groups, extending them until October 31, 2027.

According to Wam, the current autonomous list includes 15 individuals and 8 groups. Those designated are subject to an asset freeze, and the individuals face a travel ban to the EU. Moreover, EU persons and entities are prohibited from providing funds, financial assets, or economic resources to them.

These measures complement those imposed by the UN Security Council against ISIL/Da'esh and Al-Qaeda. The EU remains dedicated to countering the continued terrorist threat posed by these entities and their regional affiliates.
