Brussels: The EU's gross domestic product (GDP) was valued at pound 18.8 trillion in 2025, according to Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
According to Emirates News Agency, Germany had the largest economy among EU countries, with a GDP of pound 4.5 trillion, accounting for 23.8% of the EU total. France followed as the second-largest economy, contributing 15.8%, while Italy held the third position with a 12.0% share of the EU's GDP.
At the other end of the spectrum, Malta had the smallest economy in the EU, contributing only 0.1% of the total GDP. It was followed by Cyprus, Estonia, and Latvia, each accounting for 0.2% of the EU's economic output.
