Executive Office of Council of Arab Housing and Reconstruction Ministers to Hold Its Meeting Tomorrow

The Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction will hold its 89th meeting at the ministerial level on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Arab League’s General Secretariat in Cairo.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Arab League said that the two-day meeting includes the member states of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction, including the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Syrian Arab Republic, the Republic of Iraq, the State of Palestine, the Union of the Comoros, and the Kingdom of Morocco.

The statement added that the meeting will discuss a number of significant topics on its agenda, including the latest developments regarding the holding of the 8th Arab Housing Conference on “sustainable urbanism: challenges and promising hopes,” from Dec. 17-19 in Algeria, in addition to choosing the theme of the Arab Housing Day 2025, as well as cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Pr
ogram.

The meeting will also discuss the progress made in following up on the implementation of the 2030 Global Sustainable Development Plan and the Executive Plan of the Arab Strategy for Housing and Urban Development, in addition to cooperation with relevant Arab, regional, and international organizations and Arab federations, as well as reviewing the most important experiences in Arab countries regarding social housing, pioneering projects in the field of housing and urban development, and legislation and laws regulating the housing and construction sector.

The meeting will also address support for the Republic of Somalia in the field of training cadres in the housing and construction sector, and support for the Republic of Yemen in reconstruction, in addition to presenting studies and experiences on the rehabilitation of cities affected by conflicts and Arab lands under Israeli occupation, as well as the repercussions of natural disasters in the Arab region, in addition to supporting Palestine to achiev
e sustainable housing for the Palestinian citizen.
