The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy is organising the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies, to be held in Abu Dhabi from 12th to 16th September, 2024.
The event is organised under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (The Mother of the Nation), Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and the directives of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and Chairwoman of Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club.
During the announcement, which was attended by senior officials at the academy’s headquarters, it was noted that this tournament is part of the academy’s ongoing mission to support and promote women’s sports in the UAE, fostering both competition and professionalism in women’s volleyball. The event will attract teams from various Arab nations, provid
ing a platform for players to enhance their skills and develop their technical and tactical capabilities, both individually and as teams.
The tournament aims to encourage participants to adopt a professional approach to training and competition. The gathering of teams from diverse cultural and sporting backgrounds is intended to foster sportsmanship and strengthen ties between Arab countries, while also facilitating the exchange of expertise.
Shamsa Al Hanaee, Board Member at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, said, “The Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies represents a significant step towards elevating women’s sports in our community. We are committed to creating platforms that allow female athletes to showcase their talents and contribute to the growth of women’s sports.”
She added, “This tournament is not just about competition; it serves as a platform to inspire young women to engage in sports and build a strong following for women’s volleyball.”
The tournament will featu
re prominent women’s teams, with matches progressing through preliminary rounds before moving to the semifinals, where the highest-ranked team will compete against the fourth-placed team, and the second-placed team will face the third-placed team. The knockout semifinals will culminate in the final match, determining the first and second places over five days at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy.
