DUBAI: From the brink of defeat, Senegal staged a dramatic comeback, clawing back from a two-goal deficit to snatch victory against Colombia and reignite their FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup – UAE 2024 dreams.

Edu Lopez stunned the crowd with a brilliant goal, putting Colombia in the driver’s seat. But Senegal roared back in the second half, only to be silenced by Esleider Avila’s thunderous volley that restored South American control. Senegal never gave up, though, and roared back level before Papa Ndoye and Mandione Diagne scored the goals to secure the win and send Colombia home after a compelling 5-3 victory.

United States Ambassador to Lebanon, Lisa Johnson, attended on Sunday the embassy team’s match in the second division volleyball tournament in the hall of the Al-Rusul School in Jounieh, alongside the club president, vice president of the Olympic Committee, Asaad al-Nakhl, and Mr. George al-Hani.

The match ended with the US embassy team defeating Mont La Salle 3-1.
