FNC and European Parliament Engage in Talks to Enhance UAE-EU Trade and Investment Ties

Strasbourg: Dr. Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi, a member of the Federal National Council (FNC), engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the European Union. The talks were held with Daniele Polato, Coordinator of the Committee on International Trade for the European Conservatives and Reformists Group in the European Parliament, at the European Parliament headquarters.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, energy security, and investment. Discussions also included perspectives on international trade issues. Dr. Al Muhairi emphasized the significance of deepening UAE-EU economic relations and the pursuit of a free trade and economic partnership agreement that would contribute to sustainable development and global economic stability.

He also highlighted the UAE's role as a global economic and trade hub, facilitating international trade and connecting global markets. The dialogue addressed the necessity of protecting trade routes and ensuring maritime navigation freedom, alongside enhancing international cooperation to tackle economic and geopolitical challenges impacting global markets and supply chains.

Dr. Al Muhairi noted that the UAE's policy is based on economic openness and international cooperation, with a focus on innovation and investment in technology and education to boost economic competitiveness and sustainable development. Daniele Polato acknowledged the UAE's expanding economic and trade influence, emphasizing the importance of advancing cooperation in trade, investment, and energy to benefit the mutual interests of both parties.
