Accra:Indonesia's Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara announced that foreign capital inflows into the financial markets have reached approximately US$7.33 billion this year, highlighting strong investor confidence in the nation's macroeconomic stability.
According to Emirates News Agency, these inflows have been largely driven by Government Securities (SBN), which have attracted Rp36.7 trillion (US$2.05 billion). Suahasil Nazara made these remarks during a monthly state budget press briefing, as reported by ANTARA.
He mentioned that while capital flows saw a contraction in early 2026, they surged to Rp140.6 trillion (US$7.86 billion) in the second quarter before stabilizing in the third quarter. The positive momentum resumed at the start of the fourth quarter, with net foreign inflows reaching Rp22.01 trillion (US$1.23 billion) by October 7.
Government Securities have continued to be a significant factor in attracting foreign investments. In the first six days of October, government bonds alone drew nearly Rp8 trillion (US$447.03 million) in foreign capital.
However, the domestic equity market experienced net foreign outflows amounting to Rp84.2 trillion (US$4.70 billion) year-to-date.
