The French government has requested an extension from the European Commission to the deadline for submitting its plan to reduce the public deficit, which was originally set for September 20.
A ministry source indicated that Paris is seeking additional time to align between the plan and the 2025 budget proposal, although the new proposed deadline has not been specified.
The European Union had previously requested France to submit a long-term fiscal strategy in September.
