Fujairah: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the emirate is preparing to host the second edition of the Fujairah Children’s Book Fair in 2025. The event will take place from 26th October to 2nd November at the Dibba Exhibition Centre in Dibba Al Fujairah.

According to Emirates News Agency, the fair is organized by the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah in collaboration with the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority. This year, it will feature participation from 52 publishing houses across eight countries, including Kuwait, Jordan, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. The UK will join for the first time, marking its presence as the only non-Arab country, thus adding an international dimension to the cultural event aimed at children.

The fair’s primary goal is to nurture a love for reading among children and offer educational content tailored for younger generations. It will host interactive programs, specialized workshops, and a variety of performances in literature, theater, and arts, all crafted to inspire and stimulate creativity among young participants.

Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the fair continues as a distinct event focused on children’s literature, blending educational and entertainment elements in a cohesive cultural environment. This initiative reflects Fujairah’s strategic vision to enhance the publishing and knowledge sectors.

Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Fair, highlighted the significant support from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, who values investment in knowledge and education as foundational for societal and future development. The event embodies Fujairah’s commitment to promoting the cultural sector at multiple levels.

Nasser Al Yamahi, Executive Director of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, emphasized the fair’s unique position as a specialized cultural initiative in the region focusing on children’s and young adult literature. It integrates books, art, and technology to emphasize reading’s role in children’s daily lives and fosters imagination and creativity from a young age. The commitment to evolving the annual event aims to meet the changing expectations of new generations, thereby reinforcing Fujairah’s status as an influential cultural hub on the international stage.

The fair is set to include direct engagements and partnerships between young writers and publishers, along with spaces for free reading, book signings, and a pavilion dedicated to innovation and digital media in children’s literature.

With its second edition, the Fujairah Children’s Book Fair reiterates its role as a significant cultural initiative in the UAE and the region. It serves as a dynamic platform promoting children’s publishing, enhancing Fujairah’s profile among major cultural events, and advocating for a strong reading culture among youth while facilitating creative exchanges between cultural institutions and publishers from the Arab world and beyond.
