G7 to Release 100 Million Barrels of Energy Stocks Through IEA

Abu Dhabi:The Group of Seven (G7) has announced a coordinated release of 100 million barrels from emergency oil and diesel stocks via the International Energy Agency (IEA). This move aims to support stability in global energy markets.

According to Emirates News Agency, A joint statement from G7 leaders detailed the plan, stating that the release will begin immediately over a four-month period. The plan includes a significant initial release of diesel within the first 20 days by G7 members and partners.

The statement also clarified that the release encompasses a mix of emergency energy stocks, not solely diesel. The lyse Palace described the measure as involving the strategic release of both diesel and crude oil stocks, totaling up to 100 million barrels.
