Dubai: The GCC is set to stage six tournaments on the DP World Tour's 2027 global schedule. This announcement highlights the region's significant role in hosting major golfing events, with four consecutive weeks of golf kicking off the calendar year and the Race to Dubai concluding in the UAE in November.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Gulf run will commence with the Team Cup at Abu Dhabi Golf Resort from January 15 to 17, introducing team match play at the start of the year. The tour will then proceed to Emirates Golf Club for the 38th Hero Dubai Desert Classic from January 21 to 24, marking the first Rolex Series event of 2027. Following this, the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship will take place at Royal Golf Club from January 28 to 31. The Middle East leg of the International Swing concludes with the Qatar Masters at Doha Golf Club from February 3 to 6.
The season's finale will see a return to the UAE. The DP World Tour Play-Offs begin with the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links from November 4 to 7 and conclude with the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, at Jumeirah Golf Estates' Earth Course from November 11 to 14, where the Race to Dubai winner will be determined.
Three of the Tour's five Rolex Series events will be hosted in the UAE, namely the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Abu Dhabi Championship, and DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. The remaining two events are the Genesis Scottish Open from July 8 to 11 and the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club from September 23 to 26.
The 2027 schedule features 42 tournaments across 24 countries, all contributing to the Race to Dubai. The schedule also marks the return of three historic tournaments: the Hong Kong Open, the Deutsche Bank Singapore Open, and the Open de Portugal|Cascais-Lisboa. The Hong Kong and Singapore events will be co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour under a new tri-partite partnership including the PGA Tour, agreed upon in July. New dates have also been set for the Amgen Irish Open, FedEx Open de France, and BMW PGA Championship due to the 2027 Ryder Cup, scheduled at Adare Manor in Ireland from September 17 to 19.
